Have you always wanted to feel more in control of your health? Are you confused by all the mixed messages out there or feel intimidated by all the medical jargon that’s thrown around?
Well you’re are definitely not alone.
I remember very clearly someone who I’ll call Allanah. She was in her 30s and had a type of brain tumour called a high grade glioma. She was incredibly smart and was desperate to learn more about her condition and what treatments would help her. She would scour the internet for information, but somehow she would always end up feeling more overwhelmed than when she started.
There is so much information out there that Allanah didn’t know where to begin or what information to believe. You know, for her it felt like being dropped in the middle of the jungle without a map to help guide her.
So I thought to myself – why isn’t there somewhere on the internet where people like you and Allanah can go and learn about medicine at your own pace and get practical tips on how to improve your health? You know, your doctor and you doctor should be a team, but for that team to work, you need to know what are the right questions to ask and what those answers mean.
Allanah’s story inspired me to start DocUnlock – this is where we break down difficult topics and bring the art of teaching back into medicine. I explain in bite size pieces what is really going on in your body so that you can make the best decisions possible about your health.
